Letter from the Editors

Dear Readers,

We can honestly state that when we received the job of Editors-in-Chief, we had no idea what was in store for us. The past three months have been a medley of emotions—triumph, frustration, excitement, horror, fatigue, hope, determination. The list goes on. In a word, we summed up the experience thus far as challenging. But together with our staff, we survived and created something big: a community website.

Upon being hired and hiring others to join us, we had a strong vision in mind—to speak to people via a digital medium. This is the digital age. Social media is thriving and Google stands stronger than ever. We approached our job with the drive to raise the bar of On the Danforth Online and to speak to the Danforth community while appealing to a larger readership. Daily content was a non-negotiable must-have and our writers rose to the challenge.

It hasn’t been a walk in the park. Steady deadlines, fast-paced work, unexpected barriers, and occasional disagreements: these are just a few of the hurdles every staff member had to face throughout the process.  Teamwork, understanding, and a whole lot of determination have held this staff together. Why do we tell you this? We acknowledge that no relationship can be forged, digitally or personally, without honesty. On the Danforth Online is genuine. From start to finish, we want to provide trustworthy content that allows us to build loyal and friendly ties with the community.

After such hard work, we are proud to finally go live and share the stories in which we have passionately and diligently crafted together to highlight and represent the many voices of the community. From our creative minds to the web and now on your computer and digital devices, we present to you: On the Danforth Online.
