Fiction Contest Winner

On the Danforth is proud to announce the winner of the postcard fiction contest: Andrew Battershill, for his story “East of the Don.” You’ll be able to read his story in the summer issue. Congratulations, Andrew!

Andrew Battershill is a recent graduate of Concordia University. His fiction has appeared in Soliloquies Anthology, The Claremont Review, Headlight Anthology, and Burner Magazine. He was the winner of the 2010 Irving Layton Award for fiction, which sounds like a fancier award than it really is, because it has a real dude’s name attached to it. He enjoys referring to himself in the third person; Andrew thinks that probably everyone does, at least a little.
