Which Billie Eilish Track was Made for Your Star Sign?

It’s Billie’s world and we’re living in it. Before becoming an adult, she had a #1 album, performed on the 45th season premiere of Saturday Night Live, and performed sold out shows across the world. She swept at the 2020 Grammys as the youngest person to take home the Big Four awards (Best New Artist, Album, and Record and Song of the Year) and Pop Vocal Album. At the beginning of the year, it was also announced that she will be recording the theme for the next Bond movie; again, the youngest person to have done so. Have I said we’re all living on planet Billie?

She’s said, “I’m the monster under the bed, I’m my own worst enemy,” in an interview with Beats 1 radio host Zane Lowe. The clever lyrics, Billie’s swooning vocals, and FINNEAS’s production quality will truly haunt you track after track.

Looking for a bit more neon green in your life (petition to change it to Billie green!)? See which track from Billie’s album, WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? was recorded just for your star sign.

Aries (March 21 to April 19)

“bury a friend”

You’re eager, dynamic, quick, and competitive, Aries, and this track’s monster-under-the-bed perspective, layered vocals, and production has been likened to Kanye’s Yeezus. Who’s more competitive than Kanye and more dynamic than a monster under the bed? You are, Aries, you are.

Taurus (April 20 to May 20)

“you should see me in a crown”

Inspired by Jim Moriarty in BBC’s Sherlock, you’re strong, dependable, sensual, and creative, Taurus. Plotting for world domination, much like Moriarty, “you should see me in a crown” is that electropop anthem you’ve been searching for. So take a page out of Billie’s and Moriarty’s books, Taurus, and take over the world.

Gemini (May 21 to June 8)

“8”

“8” reflects your versatility, expressiveness, curiosity, and kindness, Gemini. Sandwiched between “when the party’s over” and “my strange addiction,” this track’s child-like vocals and heartbreaking lyrics are just what you would write for a Billie Eilish album, right? Right.

Cancer (June 21 to July 22)

“xanny”

“xanny,” a call for safe drug use amongst teens and young adults, pulls right at your sentimental, compassionate, and protective heartstrings, Cancer, baby. Your love for those around you is similar to young Billie’s and this video, being her directorial debut, will resonate with your strong sense of intuition.

Leo (July 23 to August 22)

“bad guy”

Arguably Billie’s most well-known single, the smart, provocative lyrics appeal to your outgoing and fiery personality, Leo, but that drop to 60 BPM in the second half? That gets your dramatic juices flowing. And who could forget the iconic re-release with Justin Bieber in summer 2019? Not you, I’m sure.

Virgo (August 23 to September 22)

“when the party’s over”

Billie’s tears, dear Virgo, in the “when the party’s over” video will pull you in, if her soft vocals and intense production haven’t already appealed to your gentle spirit. Why is she drinking the black liquid? Why is it immediately coming out of her eyes, and then pooling on the floor? Your practical and analytical self will be living as you tear this apart. Enjoy.

Libra (September 23 to October 22)

“ilomilo”

While it’s bouncy and boppy, “ilomilo” (pronounced “ee-low-mee-low”) is essentially about the fear of losing someone you love and being alone. Billie’s said this is one of her favourite songs she’s ever written and was inspired by the computer game ilomilo. It will appeal to your social side, Libra, and you should toy with the thought of loneliness with fair-minded grace.

Scorpio (October 23 to November 21)

“wish you were gay”

Have you ever liked someone so much and they didn’t like you back, and it practically broke you in two? I’m sure you have, stubborn, passionate Scorpio. Fourteen-year-old Billie apparently felt that way when a boy didn’t like her back, prompting her to write “wish you were gay.” Billie’s vocals over the lush instrumentals and her lyrics, which have been accused of queerbaiting, will appeal to your bravery, Scorpio. So, live a little! Sing about your unrequited crush on your debut album, too!

Sagittarius (November 22 to December 21)

“my strange addiction”

You’re extroverted, optimistic, generous, and funny, Sagittarius, so you’ve got to appreciate the Threat Level Midnight samples throughout the track. Billie’s vocals—a Sagittarius herself—practically roll over the instrumentals, with flowing melodies and The Office samples expertly intertwined. “There’s a whole crowd of people out there who need to learn how to do The Scarn.” Pick up the torch, dear Sagittarius.

Capricorn (December 22 to January 19)

“listen before i go”

Lyrical, dreamy, and emotional, “listen before i go” will still tug at your independent, disciplined, and tenacious lil’ heart, Capricorn. Take a moment to be not okay and a little bit scattered, if you need. I won’t tell anyone.

Aquarius (January 20 to February 18)

“all the good girls go to hell”

A punchy pop performance about God and the Devil scrutinizing everything we mere mortals do? Yes, please! The vocal quality in “all the good girls go to hell” is creepy and certainly imaginative, and the music video picks up where “bury a friend” left off—how’s that for uncompromising? “Even God herself has enemies;” carry that with you, dear Aquarius.

Pisces (February 19 to March 20)

“i love you”

The penultimate track on WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? should appeal to you, affectionate, empathetic, and artistic Pisces. Billie performed “i love you” on Saturday Night Live, leaving us all with enough goosebumps to bring us into the next decade. This track will tear your heart open with its vulnerability, layered vocals, and simple guitar motifs. Pass the tissues when you’re done with them!
