Goodbye (Again)

…But We’ll Be Back!

Sadly, it has come to that point in the year where On the Danforth Online goes on an extended hiatus. Our staff, the students at Centennial College’s Book & Magazine Publishing program, must move on to other exciting projects. Our Spring and Summer print issues will be coming out over the next few months, so keep on the lookout for those! If you don’t see them around the neighbourhood, don’t worry, we’ll be posting them here too. More good news: OTD.ca will return with a whole new crew this winter.

It’s been wonderful getting to know the fabulous neighbourhoods that surround the Danforth—Greektown, the Pocket, Leslieville, Riverdale, the Beach—everyone made us feel so welcome in this wonderful part of Toronto. The community spirit of the area is evident in our stories about local businesses and initiatives. Dear citizens of the Danforth, you inspired us every day with your passion for your city! Life is pretty interesting east of the DVP.the only cafe

We also had great fun writing about all the unique food of the Danforth (we might have over-indulged) and sharing some of our favourite recipes. Reflecting my editorial biases, there also seems to have been a surprising number of stories about soup. We saw some terrific shows, reviewed some cool culture, and went to some great events as part of our A&E coverage. And I hope you found our Lifestyle and Health & Fitness stories as helpful as I did—I seriously feel like a better person just reading them!neighbourhood cat 1

On behalf of everyone who worked on On the Danforth 2013, I’d like to say it’s been a true honour and pleasure being part of this community. So thank you again to our readers and everyone who reached out to us on Twitter and Facebook. It’s hard to say goodbye, but we’ll be back before you know it!
