School’s Out! Now What? Part 2
Keeping your kids amused and occupied during March Break

While the children rejoice in their freedom from school, working parents struggle to find campsand activities to keep them occupied. In part two of On the Danforth’s March Break series, we take a look at the activities the Toronto public libraries on the Danforth have to offer. Combine the events from both libraries together and your kids will have a full week of fun.

Magician Bob’s Family Magic Show
When: Monday, March 10 from 2 pm to 3 pm.
What: For kids of all ages, Bob the Magician will perform his comedic magic show. Be prepared to be a part of the magic!
Cost: Free. Tickets are available 30 minutes before the show.
Board Games for Kids
When: Tuesday, March 11 from 2 pm to 4 pm.
What: Brush up on your Snakes and Ladders and come on down to the library where games for kids (TBA) of all ages will be available to be played.
Cost: Free.
Family Movie: Monsters University
When: Thursday, March 13 from 2 pm to 3:45 pm.
What: Danforth and Coxwell library will screen Pixar’s Monsters University, a film that’s fun for the whole family. It’s sure to be a screaming good time.
Cost: Free.
Stories and Puppets in French
When: Friday, March 14 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.
What: Join puppeteer Thomas for story time, along with his friends George and Josephine, as he teaches them the importance of friendship. The show will be performed in French.
Cost: Free. No registration is required.

Red Cross Babysitting Course
When: Monday, March 10 all day.
What: Want to become a certified babysitter? Preteens ages 11-15 can take this course where caregiving skills and basic first aid will be covered in-depth.
Cost: $50. Register at citycpr.com or call 416-531-7066. Maximum 30 participants.
Owen Anderson: Magician
When: Tuesday, March 11 from 2 pm to 2:45 pm.
What: The magician, Owen Anderson, will perform an interactive show for children ages three and up. Keep your eyes peeled for Ruby the Rabbit!
Cost: Free. Tickets available 30 minutes before the show. Space is limited.
Puppet Show: Performance 1 and 2
When: Wednesday, March 12 from 10.30 to 11.15 am and 2 to 2.45 pm.
What: For ages two and up, the tale of Little Red Riding Hood will be performed. There will be a rhyme before and colouring after the show.
Cost: Free. Tickets available 30 minutes before the show and please note that there are space restrictions.
March Break Stories and Craft
When: Friday, March 14 from 2 pm to 2:50 pm.
What: For ages three and up, a mix of stories and rhymes will be told with craft time afterward.
Cost: Free.
Magic Illusions Workshop
When: Friday, March 14 from 4 to 4:50 pm.
What: Local magician, Ayan Deb, will hold a workshop and teach the art of illusion for ages 13-19. Learn how to do magic tricks with simple everyday objects and get the lowdown on the newest card tricks from Deb himself.
